The practice has developed a significant expertise in this sector, due to its integrated nature and the urban design and architectural expertise in the practice. These have included more than ten “Park & Ride Facilities”, the design of railway station precincts, public space upgrading projects, Non-Motorised Transport (NMT) route projects, as well as a number of Transport Interchange Projects. Since the completion of the award winning Kuyasa Transport Interchange in Khayelitsha in 2012 (National Merit Award from the South African Institute of Architects 2012), the practice has been involved both as urban designers and architects on a number of new interchanges, including the highly complex Inner City Public Transportation Hub for the City of Cape Town, Bellville Transport Interchange, Wynberg Interchange, Bayside Interchange, Retreat and Du Noon Transport Interchanges. Two projects are showcased below.
