House Little, Pringle BayResidential

A retreat for a semi-retired couple with a progressive design brief – this house consists of three simple steel structures hovering above the natural “fynbos” landscape. This is an ecologically sensitive design where rainwater is recycled and passive climate control principles have been applied to minimize the impact on the environment. The elegant steel structure opens up the light and airy interior spaces and frames the views over Pringle Bay. This project has been published locally and internationally and received an Award of Commendation from the Cape Institute of Architecture in 2005.
